Kura Sushi is officially open in Temecula, bringing its interactive revolving sushi experience to the Temecula Valley. We recently visited with our family to see what all the excitement was about, and this is definitely more than your typical sushi dinner.
From sushi traveling past your table on a revolving conveyor belt to robot drink servers, touch-screen ordering and prizes, Kura Sushi turns dinner into an experience—which makes it especially fun if you’re dining with kids.
What Is Kura Sushi?
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is a Japanese restaurant known for its interactive dining concept. Rather than ordering everything through a traditional server, guests can select dishes as they travel by the table on a revolving sushi belt or order additional items through the restaurant's ordering system.
The menu goes well beyond sushi, too. Kura's current menu includes ramen, udon, side dishes and desserts in addition to its selection of sushi and sashimi.
If you have kids who aren't quite sold on the idea of going out for sushi, the experience itself may be enough to win them over!
Why Our Kids Loved Kura Sushi Temecula
As parents, we're always looking for family-friendly restaurants in Temecula that are actually enjoyable for both the kids and the adults. Kura checks that box.
One of our kids' favorite parts was watching the sushi make its way around the restaurant and choosing what they wanted directly from the revolving belt. Then there's the robot that delivers drinks to your table—which, as you can imagine, was a hit.
And then come the prizes.
As you finish your plates, they're inserted into the plate slot at your table. Once you reach 15 plates, you get a prize. Suddenly eating dinner becomes a family competition to see if you can make it to 15!
